Abu Bakr bin Said bin Abu Bakr was a Ba Alawi scholar from Qasam in Hadramawt. Al-Mashra al-Rawi identifies his grandfather Abd al-Rahman with the epithet al-Maghfari and traces the family to al-Faqih al-Muqaddam. Born and raised in Qasam, Abu Bakr later travelled to Tarim for study, attending scholars including Abdullah bin Shaykh al-Aydarus and other leading teachers of the region. The source also records study connections in Aynat and says that he performed Hajj repeatedly. In Tarim he attended the teaching of Imam Abdullah bin Alawi al-Haddad. He died in Tarim in 1088 AH and was buried in Zanbal Cemetery.
