Abdullah al-Aydarus al-Hafid was a Ba Alawi scholar born in Tarim in 1027 AH. Al-Mashra al-Rawi places him within the al-Aydarus scholarly family and records an intensive education under leading scholars of Tarim before later travel to the Hijaz, India and al-Shihr.
Among the teachers explicitly named in the source were Abu Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman bin Shihab al-Din and Abd al-Rahman bin Shihab al-Din al-Saqqaf, alongside Abd al-Rahman bin Muhammad Imam al-Saqqaf and members of his own al-Aydarus family. The source describes him studying jurisprudence, hadith, Arabic and tasawwuf, collecting books, teaching, and maintaining scholarly ties during his travels.
A later biographical compilation independently records his birth in Tarim in 1027 AH, identifies the same principal teachers, notes his journeys and return to Hadramawt, and gives his death at al-Shihr in Dhu al-Qadah 1073 AH. The public account therefore uses those points where the sources converge and does not reproduce devotional miracle material as independent historical fact.
