Alawi bin Husayn al-Aydarus was a Ba Alawi scholar born in Tarim in 1000 AH. Al-Mashra al-Rawi records that he memorised the Quran, studied the religious sciences and pursued jurisprudence especially closely with Abd al-Rahman bin Alawi Bafaqih. He later travelled to the Hijaz and settled in Mecca, where he continued his studies with scholars including Umar bin Abd al-Rahim and Muhammad bin Umar al-Habashi.
The source presents Alawi as a teacher who combined study of the religious sciences with a disciplined personal life. It also records that students and companions gathered around him in Mecca. The public account here keeps to the educational, geographical and chronological information and does not reproduce traditional miracle narratives as historical fact.
Alawi bin Husayn al-Aydarus died in 1055 AH and was buried in al-Ma’la Cemetery in Mecca. A later historical compilation independently identifies him as a Tarim-born scholar of the al-Aydarus family, gives his birth as 1000 AH, records his study in the Hijaz and gives the same death year.

Primary source: Al-Mashra al-Rawi fi Manaqib al-Sada al-Kiram Al Abi Alawi, volume 2. The OCR heading contains a duplicated patronymic, so the public lineage has been normalized against a later historical compilation that preserves the coherent name as Alawi bin Husayn bin Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Husayn bin Abdullah al-Aydarus. Both sources agree on Tarim, birth in 1000 AH and death in 1055 AH. Devotional material is omitted or treated as source tradition.
