Alawi bin Abdullah al-Aydarus was a Ba Alawi scholar and teacher from Tarim. Al-Mashra al-Rawi records that he memorised the Quran and studied religious and spiritual disciplines with teachers including Alawi bin Muhammad Bafaraj, Abdullah bin Salim and Zayn bin Husayn. The source also says that he studied with his father and later spent a period in seclusion in Wadi Thabi before returning to public teaching.
After resuming teaching, Alawi attracted students in hadith, jurisprudence and tasawwuf. The source names Ahmad bin Umar bin Falah, Amr bin Salim bin Zayn Bafadl, Abdullah Bafadl and Husayn Bafadl among those who benefited from his teaching. Its devotional accounts are part of the traditional biographical genre and are not presented here as independently established events.
Alawi bin Abdullah al-Aydarus died in 1055 AH and was buried in Zanbal Cemetery. A later historical compilation independently preserves the same identity, teaching role and death year.

A later historical compilation independently identifies the same Alawi bin Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Husayn bin Abdullah al-Aydarus and gives the same death year. Devotional claims are omitted or attributed rather than asserted as history.
