رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " فِتْنَةُ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ حَيْصَةٌ مِنْ حَيْصَاتِ الْفِتَنِ ، وَبَقِيَتِ الرَّدَاحُ الْمُطْبِقَةُ ، مَنْ أَشْرَفَ لَهَا أَشْرَفَتْ لَهُ ، وَمَنْ مَاجَ فِيهَا مَاجَتْ بِهِ " .
