رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : " أَنْشُدُكَ اللَّهَ يَا كَعْبُ ، أَتَجِدُنِي خَلِيفَةً أَمْ مَلِكًا ؟ " قَالَ : قُلْتُ : بَلْ خَلِيفَةً ، فَاسْتَحْلَفَهُ ، فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ : خَلِيفَةٌ وَاللَّهِ مِنْ خَيْرِ الْخُلَفَاءِ ، وَزَمَانُكَ خَيْرُ زَمَانٍ " .
