رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ إِيَّاهُ وَلَمْ يَرَ عَلَيْهِ الرَّجْمَ ، فَصَدَّقَهُمْ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ بِذَلِكَ مِنْ قَوْلِهِمْ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا دَرَأَ عَنْهُ الرَّجْمَ أَنَّهُ عَذَرَهُ بِالْجَاهِلِيَّةِ " .
