قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : سَمِعْتُ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ حَنْبَلٍ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ مَرْوَانَ بْنَ شُجَاعٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : " مَا خَاصَمَ وَرِعٌ قَطُّ فِي الدِّينِ " .
