أَتَيْنَاهُ ، فَقُلْنَا : يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ , اسْتَخْلِفْ عَلَيْنَا , قَالَ : " لا , إِنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ خَيْرًا اسْتَعْمَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ خَيْرَكُمْ , كَمَا أَرَادَ بِنَا خَيْرًا اسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ " .
