، " فِي فِدَاءِ سَبْيِ الْعَرَبِ سِتَّةَ فَرَائِضَ " ، وَقَضَى عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ فِي " فِدَاءِ سَبْيِ الْعَرَبِ فِي كُلِّ رَأْسِ أَرْبَعِمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ " ، قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ : " ثُمَّ تُرِكَ ذَلِكَ بَعْدُ فِي أَهْلِ عُمَانَ ، فَقَالَ : هُمْ أَحْرَارٌ حَيْثُ وَجَدْتُمُوهُمْ " .
