، أَنَّ رَجُلا اعْتَرَفَ عَبْدُهُ بِالزِّنَا ، فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يَسْأَلَهُ : هَلْ كَانَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ حَرَامٌ ؟ فَإِنْ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، فَأَقِمْ عَلَيْهِ حَدَّ اللَّهِ ، وَإِنْ قَالَ : لا ، فَأَعْلِمْهُ أَنَّهُ حَرَامٌ ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاحْدُدْهُ " .
