سَمِعْتُ يُوسُفَ أَبَا يَعْقُوبَ الْمَرْوَزِيَّ صَاحِبَنَا ، نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ خُبَيْقٍ ، نا عَلِيٌّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ مَخْلَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ : " نَحْنُ إِلَى كَثِيرٍ مِنَ الأَدَبِ أَحْوَجُ مِنَّا إِلَى قَلِيلٍ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ " .
