رضي الله عنه ، فقالوا : نَجْمَعُ الْقُرْآنَ فِي مُصْحَفٍ وَاحِدٍ ، فقال : إِنَّكُمْ أَقْوَامٌ فِي أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ لَحْنٌ ، وَإِنِّي أَكْرَهُ أَنْ تُحْدِثُوا فِي الْقُرْآنِ لَحْنًا . فَأَبَى عَلَيْهِمْ " .
