رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : " لَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أَفْلَتُّ مِنْ هَذَا الأَمْرِ كَفَافًا " ، فَقَالَ الْوَلِيدُ : كَذَبْتَ ، أَيَقُولُ هَذَا خَلِيفَةُ اللَّهِ ؟ ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ : أَوَكَذَبْتُ ، قَالَ : أَوْ ذَاكَ " .
