رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لَمَّا أَتَاهُ قَتْلُ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ إِنْ كَانَ قَتْلُ عُثْمَانَ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي مِنْهُ نَصِيبٌ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ شَرًّا فَإِنِّي مِنْهُ بَرِيءٌ " .
