رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ : " مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ قِبَلِي حَقٌّ فَلْيَقْدَمْ فَلْيَأْخُذْ بِحَقِّهِ ، أَوْ تَصَدَّقُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْزِي الْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ ، فَلَمْ أَرَ يَوْمًا أَكْثَرَ شَيْخًا بَاكِيًا مِنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ " .
