حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، . . . : لَأَشْكُرَنَّكَ مَعْرُوفًا هَمَمْتَ بِهِ فَإِنَّ هَمَّكَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ مَعْرُوفُ وَلَا أَذُمُّ وَإِنْ لَمْ يُمْضِهِ قَدَرٌ وَالشَّيْءُ بِالْقَدَرِ الْمَحْتُومِ مَصْرُوفُ .
