كَتَبَ إِلَى أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ " أَنْ خُذْ ، مِمَّنْ مَرَّ بِكَ مِنْ تُجَّارِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ , مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَتَيْنِ خَمْسَةً , فَمَا زَادَ عَلَى الْمِائَتَيْنِ فَمِنْ كُلِّ أَرْبَعِينَ دِرْهَمًا دِرْهَمًا " .
