عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ : " اعْقِلْ ثَلاثًا : الإِمَارَةُ شُورَى ، وَفِي فِدَاءِ الْعَرَبِيِّ عَبْدٌ ، وَفِي ابْنِ الأَمَةِ بَعِيرَانِ " . قَالَ : وَكَتَمَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ الثَّالِثَةَ .
