سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَيْنَاءِ يَقُولُ : سَأَلْتُ أَبَا زَيْدٍ : كَيْفَ نُصَغِّرُ عَيْنَايَ ، قَالَ : " عَيِينَا يَا أَبَا الْعَيْنَاءِ " فَلَحِقَتْ بِي ، وَأَنَا كُنْيَتِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ .
