كَتَبَ إِلَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ " أَنْ يُغَسِّلُوا دَانْيَالَ بِالسِّدْرِ وَمَاءِ الرَّيْحَانِ ، وَأَنْ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ، فَإِنَّهُ نَبِيٌّ دَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنْ لا يُوَلِيَهُ إِلا الْمُسْلِمُونَ " .
