رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَقَالَ : مَنْ خَلَّفْتَ عَلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ ؟ قَالَ : ابْنَ أَبْزَى ، قَالَ عُمَرُ : مَوْلًى ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، إِنَّهُ قَارِئٌ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرْفَعُ بِهَذَا الْقُرْآنِ أَقْوَامًا ، وَيَضَعُ بِهِ آخَرِينَ " .
