سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ، يَقُولُ : " كَانَ ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ رَجُلا صَالِحًا قَوَّالا بِالْحَقِّ ، وَكَانَ يُشَبَّهُ بِسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، وَكَانَ قَلِيلَ الْحَدِيثِ " .
