، يَقُولُ : " مَا هَبَّتِ الصَّبَا إِلَّا بَكَيْتُ عَلَى أَخِي زيْدٍ " ، وَكَانَ إِذَا لَقِيَ مُتَمِّمَ بْنَ نُوَيْرَةَ اسْتَنْشَدَهُ قَصِيدَتَهُ فِي أَخِيهِ ، فَإِذَا أَنْشَدَهُ بَكَى عُمَرُ .
