ثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الضَّرِيرُ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ النَّاجِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْت الْحَسَنَ ، يَقُولُ : " الْحَيَاءُ وَالتَّكَرُّمُ خَصْلَتَانِ مِنْ خِصَالِ الْخَيْرِ , لَمْ تَكُونَا فِي عَبْدٍ إِلا رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ بِهِمَا " .
