عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ اعْقِلْ عَنِّي ثَلاثًا : " الإِمَارَةُ شُورَى ، وَفِي فِدَاءِ الْعَرَبِيِّ عَبْدٌ ، وَفِي ابْنِ الأَمَةِ بَعِيرَانِ " ، قَالَ : وَكَتَمَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ الثَّالِثَةَ .
