حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاضِي الْبِرْتِيُّ ، نَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : " قَدِمَ دَاوُدُ مِنَ السَّوَادِ وَلَا يَفْقَهُ ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَتَعَلَّمُ وَيَتَعَبَّدُ حَتَّى سَادَ أَهْلَ الْكُوفَةِ " .
