أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " أَرْبَعٌ لا يُصِبْنَ إِلا بِعَجَبٍ : أَوَّلُهُنَّ الصَّمْتُ، وَهُوَ أَوَّلُ الْعِبَادَةِ، وَذِكْرُ اللَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ، وَالتَّوَاضُعُ، وَقِلَّةُ الشَّيْءِ " .
