رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، يَوْمًا وَهُوَ يَمْسَحُ بَطْنَهُ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " يَا بَرْدَهَا عَلَى الْكَبِدِ ، سُئِلْتُ عَمَّا لا أَعْلَمُ فَقُلْتُ : لا أَعْلَمُ ، وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ ! ! " .
