أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ خَطَّابٌ يَجِيئُنِي وَيَدُهُ مَعْقُودَةٌ ، وَيَقُولُ : إِذَا وَرَدْتَ الْمَقَابِرَ فَأَقْرَأْ : قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ، وَاجْعَلْ ثَوَابَهَا لأَهْلِ الْمَقَابِرِ " .
