رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لِعُمَرَ : " إِنْ أَرَدْتَ اللُّحُوقَ بِصَاحِبَيْكَ , فَاقْصُرِ الأَمَلَ , وَكُلْ دُونَ الشِّبَعِ , وَانْكُسِ الإِزَارَ , وَاخْصُفِ النَّعْلَ , تَلْحَقْ بِهِمَا " .
