عن عائشة رضي الله عنها: {ومن كان غنيًّا فليستعفف، ومن كان فقيرًا فليأكل بالمعروف} [النساء: 6]، قالت: «أُنزِلت في والي اليتيم أن يصيب من ماله إذا كان محتاجًا بقدر ماله بالمعروف».
