Al-Miqdād ibn al-Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: "On the Day of Judgment, the sun will be brought close to the people until it is only a Mīl away from them." Sulaym ibn ‘Ᾱmir said: By Allah, I do not know what he meant by "mīl". Is it the distance of the earth, or the "mīl" used as kohl for the eyes? He said: "People will be in sweat according to their deeds.

Some will be up to their ankles, some up to their knees, some up to their waist, while others will be bridled by sweat." He said: And the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand to his mouth.
