Muhammad Ali bin Harun bin Hasan was a scholar of the Ba Alawi tradition in Tarim. Al-Mashra al-Rawi places him in the line descending through Muhammad Asad Allah and al-Faqih al-Muqaddam. He was born in Tarim, memorised the Quran and studied in the company of senior religious figures of his time. The source records that he travelled through Yemen in pursuit of knowledge, performed Hajj and spent several years in the Two Holy Sanctuaries before returning to Tarim. In later life he was known for regular attendance at communal prayer, study gatherings and visits to the graves of earlier Ba Alawi scholars. He died in Tarim in 1052 AH and was buried in Zanbal Cemetery. Traditional devotional anecdotes preserved by the source are not treated here as independently verified historical events.
