Abu Bakr bin Muhammad al-Tayyib Mawla Aidid was a Ba Alawi religious figure associated with the port of al-Shihr in Hadramawt. Al-Mashra al-Rawi describes his study of jurisprudence and tasawwuf and his close association with scholars and people devoted to spiritual discipline.
The biography particularly remembers his social service. It says that he maintained family ties, cared for widows and orphans, welcomed travellers and supported people who sought his help. It also describes his constancy in worship, congregational prayer, humility and respect for scholars and the poor.
Abu Bakr remained in al-Shihr until his death there in 1011 AH.
