Abdullah bin Shaykh bin Abdullah al-Aydarus was a Ba Alawi scholar and teacher of Tarim, born there in 945 AH. Al-Mashra al-Rawi records that he studied with his father and other leading scholars, travelled to Ahmadabad to continue his studies with his father, performed Hajj, studied in the Two Holy Sanctuaries and then returned to Tarim.
The source describes him teaching Quranic commentary, hadith, legal theory and other religious sciences to a large circle of students. Among those who studied with him was Abu Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman bin Shihab al-Din, whose own biography records Abdullah bin Shaykh al-Aydarus among his teachers.
Traditional accounts preserved in Al-Mashra al-Rawi also attribute karamat to Abdullah and describe dreams and extraordinary occurrences associated with him. These reports are retained as part of the received devotional biography and are presented as attributed tradition, not as independently established historical events.
The source also records charitable works in Tarim, including mosques and a public water facility. Abdullah died in Tarim on 15 Dhu al-Qadah 1019 AH while in prostration during the afternoon prayer. Later biographical compilations independently preserve the same birth year, teachers, teaching role and death year.
